Contentment

I'm off work today and so far it's been relaxing. Time off either unexpected or a normal Saturday is always a struggle for me to find the balance of relaxing and productivity. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this.

The last few weeks have been extra hectic for me. I'm slowllearning ( very slowly) to say no. I have to re-remember my priories and reassure myself that its ok to stop once in awhile.

I've also been remembering to be thankful always for the life I have and not be whiny about the life I thought I would have by now. Such a little word, always. Doesn't mean most of the time or when I feel like it. All. The. Time.

It's all about contentment and I think I'm finally figuring it out. God is very patient with me and I am most definitely thankful for that.

So today I'm thankful for:
An apartment to clean
An oven that works
A husband who has a heart to serve God and see the men of San Francisco on fire for Him
Old and new friends
An extra couple days off work
A fresh table cloth and a cup of coffee

  1. Thanks for a great post. Life gets so tough sometimes but when we stop, slow down, catch our breaths and count our blessings we realize how truly fortunate we are. Hope you continue to have a great day and days off. :)

  2. Good for you Joscelyn learning how to say no is so important. For a while I kept my list of priorities, the ones in order from HE in my pocket and under each of them were the specific things I had to do or keep in mind for the week. It was so helpful to just pull it out and say, hold on a moment, let me check my list and see if this ______ fits. Having a baby really taught me how to manage my priorities! Enjoy these days off to the fullest.
