Wish List Wednesday

This weeks Wish List Wednesday is a book that I first came across when I went to a quilt retreat last year. One of the women at the retreat was making a pattern from it and I just loved it. For the life me I cant remember which one it was but I had to have the pattern. So I copied down the information and it now sits in my Amazon wish list.

The book is
Charmed and Dangerous by Heather Mulder Peterson of Anka's Tresures. It has 9 patterns that all use charm packs. Which is part of the reason I fell in love with the book. Like I established in the last post Im a bit neurotic and one of the my obsessions is charm packs. I used to collect them like crazy and have a pretty good stash going. but I get them home, I pet them and drool over all the pretty colors and then I don't know what to do with them*. This book helps eliviate part of the problem, its wonderful!

* so for Christmas I made throw pillows and almost if not all of the fabric I used were from charm packs. I was quite proud

I ♥ Fabric

A couple of weeks ago I had a day off and I met one of my best friends for coffee. We had caught up and still had some time before we needed to be at another friends for dinner so I suggested we go fondle fabric at Britex.

Oh how I love Britex. They're ridiculously expensive so I've only bought fabric from their once but I love to go and pet fabric and look at all the pretty notions, patterns, books and oh did I mention petting fabric?

It's also here where I realized I may have a small addiction to fabric.(well duh,I should reword that,I realized how bad the addiction may be,read:crazy) I haven't had any disposable income for fabric in awhile but I still keep up with my favorite designers and new fabric lines.

well I walk in and low and behold a few bolts of fabric from this line are just hanging out waiting to be petted by me

Wish List Wednesday

Fresh Vintage Sewing
This was my original pick for this week, also pretty to look at. but oh how I heart the quilt pattern

This weeks Wish List Wednesday is another pattern. It was going to be a book, but what can I say I heart patterns. and I do believe the pattern I want is in the book, maybe. Or maybe I found the pattern because I had found the book on amazon? I cant remember.

anywhoo the pattern comes from Fig Tree & Co. Again, I have no idea how I stumbled upon their blog Fresh Figs, but I love it and I love all the fabrics, they make me drool a little.

Here's an email I sent my husband about the pattern way back in October of last year, thats how long I've been wishing for it

if anyone asks what I want for christmas,I would like this pattern it costs only 8.50 good deal and I will be extremely happy, http://figtreequilts.com/details.php?prodId=189&category=5
Love always,
wifey

The pattern is called Cameos and again I have no idea if I like it so much for the pattern or for the fabric choice of the sample. Doesn't matter really, its beautiful either way.

Its a twist on a traditional Pineapple block, which is surprising because generally thats not a pattern I enjoy. but oh how this one makes my heart happy

Cameos

so pretty, someday I will have the money to purchase this pattern some of Joanna Figueroa's fabric and the time to actually make it. For now it is a, Wish List Wednesday

Wish List Wednesday

I've decided to start a weekly theme of Wish List Wednesday's. I'll be posting fabric, quilt patterns, tools, books or anything else that I would love to have If I had extra money or space lying around.

This week is a pattern from Camille of Thimble Blossoms. I can't even remember how I stumbled upon Camille's blog, Simplify but I've been hooked ever since. So much inspiration, so many pretty colors and patterns that make me drool. Her obsession with aqua and red reminds me of one of my best friends here in San Francisco and gives me some great ideas for stuff to do for her in the future.

This week is a pattern that I haven't decide if I just love for the pattern or fell in love with the fabrics she picked out for the sample. Its called Wild Thing and its a unique take on a traditional pinwheel pattern. Which is probably why I Love it because I heart pinwheel patterns. but oh how pretty the fabric is.

So with out further ado, Wild Thing by Thimble Blossoms.

Wild thing
This is the original I saw that I fell in love with. not only is she a great quilter but has a huge heart, she ended up auctioning this off for Benson&Claire

Wild Thing- Nicey Jane
Here's another one she did in more muted colors but equally beautiful

ok and one last photo the pattern itself that is indeed the Wish List Wednesday

Doesn't it just make you smile? It makes me smile
